The oldest known wild bird, a female Laysan Albatross named Wisdom, has returned to her nesting ground on Midway Island. According to U.S. Fish & Wildlife officials, the 63-year-old bird has reconnected with her mate and appears to be preparing a nest. She has already raised between 30 and 35 chicks in her lifetime, including one last year. (photo of Wisdom grooming her mate by B. Wolfe/USFWS)
