Golden Gate Audubon Birdathon 2015

Bay Area

Golden Gate Audubon's annual Birdathon still has spaces available on guided field trips to see California Condors in Ventana Wilderness, spot 101 Birds in a Day in the East Bay Parks, plus bird walks in San Francisco, the Peninsula, Sonoma County, and more. Two dozen amazing field trips -- open to everyone, including beginning birders. Help us reach our goal of raising $50,000 and have an amazing birding experience while you're at it! Because this is GGAS's main fundraising event of the year, we ask all participants to raise money from friends or make a donation themselves.

Ohlone Audubon Birdathon

Pasadena Audubon Birdathon

April 24-26, 2015

Los Angeles County

Birdathon is Pasadena Audubon's major annual fundraiser. Dozens of members surge forth to find as many bird species as they can in Los Angeles County in a 24-hour period. They get pledges from the public – either fixed amounts or a certain amount per species. When pledging, keep in mind that the most fanatical teams can find around 200 species and even the laid-back teams find 40 or 50 species. But please pledge! San Fernando Valley Audubon Birdathon

Taking place on various dates throughout April and May, the annual SFVAS Birdathon puts the “fun” in fundraiser! Birdathon leaders engage in friendly competition with each other and with themselves, trying to improve on last year’s species counts. But everyone is a winner when the donations are received and SFVAS has funding to continue its important functions. Anyone can participate in this important fundraising event by pledging sponsorship to one or more of the team leaders listed on the Pledge/Contribution form and submitting donations to SFVAS. Santa Barbara Audubon Birdathon

Make plans and commit to an organized outing to count bird species, or go on your schedule, with a team or by yourself, in a location of your choosing. Make requests to members of your family and to your friends to pledge to support your efforts. Let them know they are supporting a great cause here in Santa Barbara County and that their support is Tax Deductible! To allow your team's results to be part of the Birdathon species compilation, you need to contribute a minimum of $25.

Sequoia Audubon Birdathon

Sequoia Audubon will do our annual Big Sit!® at Pescadero State Beach on Sunday October 11th, from 6 am to 6 pm. Come when you can and leave when you must. This also serves as a pledge fundraiser, with pledges based on the total number of species seen by the SASsy Seawatchers through the day. We have ranged from the low 70s to over 100 species in the four previous years we have held this event.

Join Tulare County Audubon Society for our Twenty-Fourth Annual BIRDATHON!! Spend a day exploring the wild lands and roadsides of Tulare County searching for different bird species. Or relax in your armchair and sponsor a birder below!! The birder chooses a day before May 1st, 2015 to bird, and then tries to see as many species as possible in 24 hours. To participate, you can count species wherever you happen to be and get pledges from friends and family. Yolo Audubon Birdathon

Yolo Audubon society Birdathon will be held the last weekend of April. It is one of our largest and most enjoyable fundraisers of the year. The idea is to enlist sponsors to support your effort to see as many bird species as possible in a given time period (a few hours, half a day,a day, 24 hours, etc.). Alternatively, you can be a sponsor and pledge a specific amount per species or simply pledge a flat amount. There really are no rules. You can do your Birdathon before or after the last weekend of April and you can do it in whatever time span works best for you. You are not even restricted to Yolo County -- many Birdathons have been conducted on birding vacations in other states and even in other countries! After your Birdathon is completed, collect your pledges and send them by May 31 to: Yolo Audubon Society PO Box 886 Davis, CA 95617 Sign-up sheets, sponsor sheets and donor pledge forms are posted on our website (www.yoloaudubon. org).
