"We couldn't be prouder of Debs Park"

As part of the Audubon Center at Debs Park's Earth Day celebration, Audubon California and the National Parks Conservation Association partnered to make a loud show of support for accessible open space. The NPCA is talking up its #findyourvoice campaign, which is designed to rally people to show support for our National Parks. One of the big topics of conversation today is the proposed Rim of the Valley project, which would include Debs Park.

“Our work in Los Angeles has shown us just how much urban children and families treasure opportunities to connect with the natural world,” said Brigid McCormack, executive director of Audubon California. “Nature shouldn’t be something that is far away from where people live, but something close, in their own backyards and easy to access in their communities. I'm proud of Debs Park."

State Senate President pro tem Kevin de León also attended the event and spoke out for parks and open space in urban areas.
