More than 100 chapter leaders from 32 chapters attended Audubon California’s Chapter Assembly at the Tanaya Lodge near Yosemite Nov. 4-6. This event was the first of its kind in five years, and chapter leaders made the most of it, attending workshops on climate, fundraising, water, social media, and policy. The gathering also featured a chapter congress, where the volunteers shared their ideas on policy priorities for the coming year. On the first evening, noted birding guide author David Sibley spoke to the group, saying “Birds are the best ambassadors of the natural world.”
