Wildlife biologists for the day

Girl Scouts and their leaders check out an Acorn Woodpecker granary at Starr Ranch.

Sixteen Girl Scouts ages 9-10 and their leaders visited Starr Ranch earlier this week on a sunny but warm day to do our "cougars, bobcats, and coyotes" program with seasonal staff, Kim and Liz and become wildlife biologists for a day. Here Kim is showing them an Acorn Woodpecker granary/ telephone pole where many years of acorns are stored.
