After a big rainstorm, those in the Los Angeles area are used to seeing iconic photos in the local newspaper of the downtown skyline with the mountains in the background – everything looking so close in the crystal clear air. Well, a lot of those photos are taken from the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook many miles away in Culver City, where the Los Angeles Audubon Society and the Baldwin Hills Conservancy are collaborating with California State Parks to hold a grand opening ceremony on April 18 from 10 a.m. to noon. The event will feature bird watching tours, native plant restoration showcases, musical entertainment, guided tours, crafts, healthy food, and more. Los Angeles Audubon has been working hard for some time advising State Parks on local birds and native plant restoration.
