The sad comedy involving Acorn Woodpeckers at Rossmoor seems to be continuing. First was the news a few weeks back that 20 birds had been trapped for "research," now we hear that the Rossmoor folks are trying their hand at artificial granaries, as Audubon representatives had suggested. Only the granaries they're using don't seem to be right at all -- in fact, they look more like bee blocks.
