Over the last several weeks, observers at several Western Snowy Plover breeding sites have seen eggs with strange discoloration. Some reports indicated that these eggs were unviable as well. The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service has taken several failed eggs in for analysis. Apparently, the Service's Service's Region 8 Contaminants Branch is taking the lead in the testing. We're hoping to learn more soon.
