11th Annual Kern River Valley Hummingbird Celebration

This year's Hummingbird Celebration Stamp by Audubon Kern River Preserve's Outreach Director, Alison Sheehey.

Join Hummingbird enthusiasts from all over California at Audubon’s Kern River Preserve on August 1st to witness the phenomenon of hummingbird migration in the Kern River Valley. Volunteers are busy filling feeders as migrating hummingbirds arrive on their annual trek south toward their wintering grounds. Join Audubon staff and volunteers at the Kern River Preserve, 18747 Highway 178, Weldon on Saturday August 1st from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. to celebrate these miniature jeweled warriors. Workshops, crafts, Postal cancellation station, interpretive hikes and hummingbirds are the highlight of this festival.
