We've been hearing for a while that this fire season might be one of the worst ever, but this new report seems to carry some weight. Although fire is a natural part of the life cycle for native landscapes, repeated burning poses a serious threat to habitats in that it can cause them to change type. And that bodes ill for birds and wildlife that depend on a certain type of vegetation.
