Today's Los Angeles Times has a nice opinion piece from Joel Reynolds and Bobby Shriver about the future of Southern California transportation now that the proposed extension to the Orange County Foothill South freeway has been thoroughly rejected.
There are real traffic problems in Orange County that the Foothill South toll road was meant to solve. But there are other ways to cure the congestion, alternatives that won't destroy our quality of life or our natural resources.
Audubon California was one of many groups that opposed the toll road project.
